Who we are

Oasis For Men, also known as Oasis Trust, is a community support group based in Weston-super-Mare, North Somerset. We're an informal, volunteer-run group, not a registered charity or company.

What we collect

The only personal information we collect is what you give us through our contact form: your name, your email address, and your message.

This website doesn't use cookies, and we don't track visitors. See our Cookies page for more on that.

Why we collect it, and our lawful basis

We use your name, email, and message to read and respond to what you've sent us. For most enquiries, our lawful basis is legitimate interests: you've contacted us, and we need your details to reply.

If your message includes anything about your health or wellbeing, for example if you tell us you're struggling, that's a special category of information under UK data protection law, and we need an extra legal basis to handle it. We rely on your explicit consent, given by ticking the consent box on the contact form, or, in a genuine emergency, on protecting your vital interests.

Who sees it

Your message is sent directly by email to Mike and the Oasis For Men chair. We don't pass your details to anyone else, and we don't sell or share your information with third parties.

How long we keep it

We keep contact form messages for up to 12 months, then delete them, unless we need to keep something longer for a genuine safeguarding reason.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, ask us to restrict how we use it, and object to how we use it. To use any of these rights, contact us at chair@oasis-trust.org.uk.

Complaints

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please talk to us first at chair@oasis-trust.org.uk, so we can try to put it right.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk or by phone on 0303 123 1113.

We may update this policy from time to time. This version was last updated in August 2026.
